i2p install

Like in NT4 - nothing difficult, it works. But we also may have difficulties with Java :) The main problem is finding TZ Updater of proper version. Port tree update is not always possible because of compatibility with already installed software. At last, I've found the solution. It is very simple: just do not install TZ Updater, just uncheck this option during Java setup. Rather strange, all people recommended port tree update.

• build

  cd /usr/ports/net-p2p/i2p
  make install
  

• Create i2p with home directory /home/i2p and some valid shell (e.g. /bin/sh)
• Edit /etc/rc.conf

  i2p_enable="YES"
  i2p_user="i2p"
  

• run

  /usr/local/etc/rc.d/i2p install
  /usr/local/etc/rc.d/i2p start
  

  if no error messages appeared, wait about a minute to initialize. It can take significant time.
• open http://127.0.0.1:7657/config.jsp and setup
• see what port is used and unblock it and 4444 in firewall
• if you want to see I2P resources via I2P-server, and open all the rest directly, see Squid Local Proxy.
